Tony as he would rather be called was born in Newport Pagnell to Peter & Moira, Tony also had two brothers and a sister, Gary, Darren & Dona. His Nan Cassford was a very special person in his life.
Tony grew up in Dean Hanger Buckinghamshire, He attended school there gaining many CSE's Tony was a bright pupil & enjoyed studying. Although one incident wasnt so clever his father remembers him trying out smoking in his garden shed & setting it alight.
Tony always had an interest for cooking & so on leaving school attended the college in bedford for catering to train as a chef. Throughout his life Tonys main passion was cooking, he enjoyed making meals for his family & friends even though they would always leave him with the washing up. Tony changed careers for a while & worked as a manager of a bingo hall & then joined the QEII as an officer on the caterng staff: He really loved this job & spend many happy years travelling all over the world on board this beautiful ship. His ashes where scattered in the wake of the QEII a fitting tribute to the life he spent onboard her.
He then started work at london Weekend telivision meeting many stars & doing a party for Shirley Bassey's 60th birthday, he also met other stars like Bruce Forsyth, Trisha, Chris Quinten and George Williams. After this Tony worked in a nightclub in london, He was also a drag artist for a while and made many god friends including Maisie Trollop & the Dutchess.
In 2001 Tony Spent six happy months travelling around Australia, he then moved to Brighton where he ran a pub own there'A few other jobs went by & eventualy Tony moved to the Isle Of Wight to live with his parner Russell, they had met on the internet & became really close friends. Tont decided to come down to the island on the 9th February 2004, the same year he took his partner Russell to Paris for a long weekend visiting the Effel Tower but Russell didnt have a head for heights & hated the glass bottom lift, Tony found this really amusing. Another great memory was a day trip to London for a photographic shoot which Tony had won, we were pampered for the day & many great photos were taken of us, one which holds pride of place in my home.
Tony did have a naughty side to him & often found it amusing to sneak goods into unsuspecting customers trolleys without them knowing eveery time he went into the store he expected an announcement over the tannoy warning shoppers that he was n the store.
Tony would help anyone & was a brilliant guy. Each sunday he would cook a roast dinner for Russell, his mother & son John, but woe beide anyone that wanted tomatoe sauce on it. Tony started work in several hotels on the island before falling ill Tony enjoyed his saturday evenings out with Russell & vry often Tony would get all the elderly people up dancing Tony particularly liked Elvis music.
Tony lost contact with his family for a while, and was very pleased when his father remarried & his new wife Terry had searched for Tony & reunited them, for this he was very grateful.
In 2007 Tony & Russell took over running one of the many car boot sales on the island, this was something they both enjoyed doing . Tony also loved his pets Ollie & Casper his cats & his soft toy collection of Winnie the pooh bears.
He was a man who loved his life he was a happy go lucky man and always lived his life to the full At the end of his life he had found happiness with Russell, sadly passing away in hospital on April 17th 2008. God bless Tony rest in peace your life with us no longer sharedbut in our hearts you'll always be there.
In Loving memory of a very special man its been 3 long years since you left me but your always here in my heart ill never forget you sweetheart

An Homage To An Angel
I met Anthony at the back end of 2002 one dark night in a cabaret bar named The Black Horse on the Mile End Road in the East End of London. I was watching the ‘turn’ and felt his presence close by. We started a conversation and he curried favour with me immediately, a charm that was never dispelled in all the time I was fortunate enough to have known him. His humour was captivating and his kindness obvious and true; he stole my heart and still has it.
This was a dark time for me, my soul mate had returned to Kuala Lumpur and I was feeling isolated in what I mistakenly believed to be a dreadful place on Whitechapel High Street, in unfamiliar surroundings where mice could be found surviving even in the oven. I make few serious acquaintances, but had been befriended by the keepers of the mock Tudor pub (Black Bull) which was run by an obstreperous, ill-mannered, but genuinely kind hearted landlord, also called Tony. We became familiar figures there and Tony was well liked by the locals and the transient actors from the nearby theatre who ‘luvvied it up’ there.
I always referred to Tony as a ‘cook’, but was always promptly reminded that he was a “chef”. Despite that, he once escaped revolt from pensioners for whom he was cooking because my suggestion of cooking them mushy peas for their digestion was delivering only bullets and it was near service. He quickly called me for my Northern advice and I suggested bicarbonate of soda. It was applied, a success and became a menu regular. I still have the large tub of bicarbonate of soda that he returned with that evening whilst mockingly stroking his stressed brow.
I returned to Malaysia to rekindle my waning relationship and before departure was provided with the passport which I had absently-minded forgotten by a very considerate and protective Tony. He stayed at my place whilst I was away and I returned to find the whole place redecorated, shelves where there were none and the mice problem extinguished. That I did not care for the colour was met only by a raise of the eyebrows (in fact one). This was Tony to a tee and I felt humble before him.
On my partner’s return and again I think a demonstration of Tony’s respect we somehow drifted apart. I did look, but without success.
Until recently I had not joined any social networking sites, but a particular character kept springing to mind and I chose to investigate further. To my great surprise I found a ‘Myspace’ entry for that very person and dispatched a message forthwith. Not sated by this and with a gleeful, anticipatory, excitement I decided to probe further. The consequences were devastating and hit my heart with a demolition blow. I happened upon an obituary. I refused to believe it and the next day hoped it had been a nightmare. It was not and I can honestly rate it as the worst moment of my life when faced with this stark travesty.
I am not sure just now I shall survive this massive loss and the guilt of not trying harder will cloud over me forever. My only fortune now is that should I go to heaven, I shall have an angel beside me and in the meantime one watching over me.
I will never forget the fortune I have had in this life of finding you Tony.
I lost a tear drop in the ocean (well actually the channel at Brighton) - when I find it I will stop loving you.
Sleep peacefully sunshine, you are in your own company; the company of angels.

For You Russel From Your Beautiful Tony xxx
x X x light a candle, see it glow, watch it dance, when you feel low, think of me, Think of light, I'll always be here, day or night,
a candle flickers, out of sight, but in your heart, I still burn bright,
think not of sadness, that I'm not near, think of gladness, and joyous cheer, I have not left, I am not gone, I'm here to stay
my beautiful Russel, so when you light a candle and you see it glow
and you watch it dance in your heart you'll know
that I would never leave you even when you feel so blue
I'm sitting up here with the Lord and now watching over you x X x

I read your euology with great sadness. I live not far from the IOW and spent many a holiday there with my husband and soulmate Terry (RIP). I still go there now and have such happy and fond memories. The picture I have put on for Anthony reminds me of some of the beautiful sunsets that we sat and watched on a warm summer's evening like now.
Another day has passed us by
and still I cannot help but cry.
The evening sun is sinking low
my heart is filled with so much woe
The moon, the stars in heaven above, are
our angels sending down their love.
A floating feather swirls in the breeze
oh let me catch you please, please.
My angel landed upon my hand,
and I began to smile,
Oh thank you God in heaven above,
for making this day so worthwhile.
